Panhead ROAD HOG 5.8% NZ IPA

Hot rod icon. Stunning in ‘72. The wildest ride many had ever seen as magazine pages or rumbling round Rotovegas, Cambridge and the ‘Tron. It survives in ‘25, resuscitated by a couple of highly skilled hot rod history buffs, father and son. Our Road Hog is an old-school IPA built withnew-school hops. Expect an aggressively hopped, malt stabilised, bitterly finished beauty, fanning bright tropical tones with zesty, floral echoes 🍺

Nice flavour, hubby stole it and let me take a picture of him in his pj’s with it, which must mean he thinks it’s good too. Will buy again.

  5. Maria

In time for a kiwi bbq summer

+ PROS: The 5.8% ABV gives it enough strength to enjoy without overwhelming, making it a great choice for both casual drinkers and craft beer fans. The bitterness is well-rounded and leaves a pleasant aftertaste that invites you for another sip.
    - CONS: Would love a low carb, low alcohol panhead

  6. Kirsten

    More enjoyable than I expected.

+ PROS: Not too overly strong flavour, quite drinkable. Not overly strong %-wise. Reputable brand that generally makes palatable beers.
    - CONS: The days of the IPA craze have passed and the fact that some beverage companies continue to push them out surprises me. I was skeptical about how this would taste based on very strong IPA disasters in the past. Still wouldn't have more than 2 in a sitting.

I know this is criminal, but I don’t drink beer often, so I added the sugar-free Sprite to it and made a shandy. Tasted great!
