Broccoli is a popular vegetable as it is versatile with the stalks, buds and most of the leaves being edible. It can be served raw or lightly blanched and used in salads, pasta dishes, omlettes, quiches, soups and as a side dish.

Broccoli is a good source of vitamin c , with one serving (80g) easily providing an adult’s daily vitamin c requirement. It is also a source of dietary fibre and folate.
