Lucky Sod Little Diggers are a handy, tasty and time‑saving choice — excellent for salads, roasting or simple sides — ideal if you want ready‑to‑go potatoes. If you need fluffy mashed potatoes, you might prefer a higher‑starch potato instead.
+ PROS: • Pre‑washed and ready to cook — saves prep time.
• Firm, waxy texture — stays intact when boiled, roasted or used in salads.
• Great flavour — good for salads, summer dishes, roasting, or simple butter/olive‑oil sides.
• Convenient small size — tender, quick to cook, and works well for light meals or side dishes.
- CONS:As a waxy potato, they may not mash as fluffy as high‑starch varieties — less ideal for mashed potatoes or thick stews. (Inferred from typical waxy‑vs‑starchy potato use.)
• Since they’re small and pre‑washed, the package may cost more per kg than loose bulk potatoes. (Common trade‑off for convenience.)
• Limited control over quality and freshness compared to choosing individual potatoes yourself. (General for pre‑packaged produce.)

Good potatoes but I prefer unwashed ones and some had some bad spots on
Unfortunately, a few were rotten when I went to open the bag, but it could’ve been the way I stored them as it has been very hot and Gisborne over the past few weeks. So I will do this review kind of separately from that first initial disappointment as the potatoes themselves – the ones that were still fine to use – were easy to cook with, and a good size.
+ PROS: Good little size to cook with. Easy to cook and versatile.
- CONS:Store well and not in too warm or humid conditions

Very versatile, so easy to pop in the air fryer for a quick potato salad . Great tasting.

These were very good. I roasted them with oregano and olive oil. Had them with New Yorker Porkers.

Love these!
Tracy Smith –
Great little potatoes for a nice addition to any meal. Cooked pretty quickly. Nice thin skin so keeps the potato together nicely.

I love little tatties but I hate peeling them. Best of both worlds in this bag. Loved them.
