Golden Crumpets are soft, fluffy and irresistibly light, with classic golden holes made to hold the best flavours and make Every Bite Golden. Perfect for breakfast, lunchboxes and after‑school snacks, they’re a versatile favourite the whole family loves. Try them savoury or sweet- delicious with butter, honey, jam or nut spreads for a sweet treat, or topped with Marmite, cheese or avocado for a savoury option. For a fun twist, turn them into Pizza Crumpets in the air‑fryer with tomato sauce, melted cheese and your favourite toppings.
Toasted some crumpets this afternoon and was surprised at how much sweeter they seemed.l rarely buy them since they replaced the yeast with chemical raising agents as l miss the lovely flavour it gave but, checking the ingredients, l notice they now contain glycerin but no actual sugar. Has anyone else noticed the change?
+ PROS: They resemble a crumpet.
- CONS:No yeast flavour and oddly sweet.

Heath on behalf of Melanie–
I’m writing on behalf of my Grandmother, an avid Golden crumpet enthusiast.
However; that is to be no more.
After picking up another packet of Golden crumpets (Monthly purchase), her usual excitment washed over her.
Unfortunately that excitment withered into disapointment at her first serving.
The primary issues are as follows, in order of sorrow:
Overly doughy interior causing potential of choking, Edges burn more easily and far before interior has browned, size has been noticibly reduced.
It’s disapointing to see such a special staple food following in the footsteps of so many other foodstuffs.
A sad and unjust thing, dedication to this brand has been thrawted likely in the name of economic stinginess or greed.

We used to buy Golden crumpet squares exclusively for breakfast every morning. The recipe has changed! No longer the same size, sunken in the middle and edges seem raised. Cook up like roast instead of the traditional crumpet texture. A minor change that seemed to coincide with the recipe change is they no longer have the cutting line for half and half? Is it just the squares or are the round ones the same recipe? I called Tip Top to enquire and they insisted that nothing has changed. Do they think we are stupid?? Will have to try the Aldi Sunny brand.
+ PROS: None
- CONS:No longer taste like the traditional crumpets.
