Wattie’s Chickpeas in Spring Water are a great meat alternative as they are a natural source of protein and are low in fat. With their unique nutty flavour and creamy texture they are so versatile- add them to salads, soups and stews or use them to make hummus and falafel.

Used in a salad & made hummus. Not as much flavor as some other brands.

Authentic to a fault! I have given it five stars, despite the fact that it was under-seasoned as far as salt is concerned, because the chickpeas were as good or even better than the real thing – which is starting from scratch, having to soak the dehydrated peas overnight and then cooking them for quite a while! I personally like more salt in my food and once cooked, it is difficult to get chickpeas to absorb salt – so that was a (minor!) disappointment for me. However, people with high blood pressure who have to watch their salt intake would celebrate Watties chickpeas in Spring Water.

I would give this 10 stars. I love chickpeas. Eat them on their own, in salads, curries, stir fry or made into hummus
Sarah –
Ok I guess, made some hummus wasn’t very exciting

Great to add to any salad or dish. Not alot of flavour to them, i think these would also be a great base for a dip. Yum.
