Wattie’s Chickpeas in Spring Water are a great meat alternative as they are a natural source of protein and are low in fat. With their unique nutty flavour and creamy texture they are so versatile- add them to salads, soups and stews or use them to make hummus and falafel.

For many yrs we hv tasted Watties products. Overall they are more often overpriced, less value for money. Particularly the chickpeas, are under-cooked! Need to chew. Pams are miles better overall, considering prices, quality on all items.

We hv bn trying Watties products for decades! Compared with other brands, Pams etc. Overall they are more often overpriced, less value for money; some items are under-cooked eg the chickpeas, still feel hard, obviously cutting costs, corners, & some price gouging, a common habit in NZ. Pams are miles better, besides, NZ owned.

My son bought these and immediately I wondered if the spring water would affect the aqua faba. Upon opening the can my prediction was correct: watery juice thus ruining the aqua faba. Disappointed. The chick peas themselves were nice though.

Way more grainy and tough when cooked than other chickpeas, I always find them inedible
