Ingredients

  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1x Cadbury Caramilk block (190g), roughly chopped
  • 180g unsalted butter, slightly melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • Extra – 1/2 block of Cadbury Caramilk, chopped into quarter squares*

Method

1
Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Line two (or three if needed) trays with baking paper. Set aside.
2
In a medium bowl, combine the flour, salt, baking soda and Cadbury Caramilk and set aside.
3
In an electric mixer (I love the KitchenAid Stand Mixer), combine the butter and both sugars until light and creamy. Add the egg, egg yolk and vanilla essence and continue to mix. Pour into the dry ingredients and stir to combine well.
4

Using a tablespoon, roll cookie dough into balls and place them on the lined baking trays, about 5cm apart.  *Flatten each cookie and place a quarter of a square of Cadbury Caramilk in the middle of each.

5

Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack and cool.

6

Serve with a glass of milk or a nice hot cup of tea.
